I could never keep my New Years’ Resolutions, until I found out this amazing secret!
It’s only the 2nd week of January, and you’ve already broken your New Years’ Resolutions. And it’s not the first time either; Or perhaps you have already given up making Resolutions. I mean, the idea is good. You want to create good habits. But you somehow can’t make your body listen to yourself.
So what is a better way to start good habits?
An ancient Chinese saying goes; “A journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step”. Research around the world has proved two counter-intuitive ways to develop new habits.
a. Take it slow.
To tell yourself “I’m going to stop eating all kinds of carbs starting tomorrow” is a very bad way to start a habit. You may be able to run with the plan for a week, or for two, but after that, your own will-power will fade; and after the initial excitement wears off, you’ll be back to square one, and there will be no change.
Ever heard of those people who got a six pack in 3 months? Did you check on them 3 months after that? They would’ve probably lost those abs faster than they got them. Change is constant, and slow. A fitter body means developing a life-long habit of good food and exercise; not just 6 months of extremely heavy exercise.
The solution, is simple; but not easy.
Start very very small. Try and do one minute of jogging in one place every day; or putting Rs. 5 into your Savings every day. Do it for 3 weeks; before adding somethnig a little more. Perhaps add one push-up to your work-out. Don’t hurry yourself. Take it slow. The change shouldn’t be too big; but should come in small increments. Because cultivating a habit is like running a marathon, not a 100 meter dash.
b. Have a partner.
Regardless of how independent the internet has made us to other people, we are born social animals. We are wired to have the support of other people; and when building habits, friends are really useful.
Do you have someone that you trust; that you can count on to push you forward everyday, when you’re feeling lazy to complete your habit? Call that person up and tell him/her about your resolution. Ask them to push you to keep on to your habit; until the habit has been successfully incorporated into your life.

Exercise and eating right isn’t enough to get there
Most fitness advertisements today show crazy fit people and their even more insane back-story, of how they were fat or ugly or unfit and how suddenly they now have the hottest gym-bods. Some of them use excess equipment, or very specialized equipment, while others peddle work-out techniques that use minimal/low equipment at all.
But none of that can help you become fit.
There are a very few out there who suggest (and we approve) changing your life-style completely. Honestly, you can’t get long-lasting fitness unless you completely change your lifestyle. Now, we aren’t here to tell you what to eat or how to exercise.
We are here to help you make that happen.
Your goal is to change the way you live; not your body.
The way you do that is to cultivate new habits; in this case, it’s
1. Eating right
Now, while cold-turkey works great for some, it’s not for everyone. We usually are good at exercising and eating right for two weeks before we get tired and go back to our old habits. Now, how do we make sure the new habits stick?
We take them slow. Don’t start with a 2 hour work-out session. Start with a 30 second work-out session, but do it everyday for 2 weeks; small sessions, that don’t take much of your time.
The second most important factor to changing your life is a supportive friend. Someone who can call you everyday and push you to continue your daily habit and get better. Before you start any of this, I strongly urge you call that friend/partner/parent and ask them to help you.
If you don’t have anyone that comes to mind, call us at (9445910101) and we will help you change your lifestyle for free.
